      I know what you're thinking: a Zinfandel?! I encourage you to challenge your previous opinions with this stunning wine. Founded by Larry Turley in 1993, Turley Wine Cellars specializes in Zinfandels and the preservation of historic old-growth vineyards across California. Some of these vines date back to 1886 and are among the oldest in the world. The Cedarman is sourced from the highest elevation plantings atop Howell Mountain and made with 100% certified organic fruit. Beaming with ripe blackberries and tart red plums, it is backed by powerful tannins, crisp minerality, and bright acidity. This Zinfandel gives the best of Bordeaux a run for their money. Recommended Pairings: Snake River Farms Skirt Steak with Peppercorn Style, Roasted Baby Carrots, and Glazed Bacon

      If you are looking for a Bordeaux-style red blend, yet curious to try something a little off the beaten path, Borgo del Tiglio Rosso Riserva is just that. The Collio DOC is a sub-region of the Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, an Italian wine region tucked in the northeastern corner of the country. Collio is best known for its refreshing white wines, but in the right hands produces stunning reds. Nicola Manferrari began making wine in 1981, and as one of the few winemakers at the time honing in on the region's unique personality, he marches to the beat of his own drum. In the case of the Rosso Riserva, Merlot is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and aged for over a year in French oak. Juicy black cherry, blackberry, and Italian plum bloom on the palate, followed by bay leaf, tobacco, and cardamom. The result is full, yet elegant and versatile. Recommended Pairings: Double R Ranch Prime Delmonico with Bone Marrow, Yukon Gold Potato Cakes, and Asparagus

      Like many regions in France, Pauillac is bound by law to a specific area. And like many regions, the more popular the wines, the harder it is to find good land to grow the grapes. Albert Tiffon is the youngest in his family that has deep roots in Pauillac. In 1982, not being able to join the family winery business, he started his own Chateau with just 4 hectares (10 acres). Land in Pauillac has only become more valuable with the popularity of famous houses like Lafite-Rothschild, Mouton-Rothschild, Latour, and so on. These same houses have gobbled up the best vineyards in Pauillac. Albert fields many calls weekly from the "big boys" to sell his prized 4 hectares. He won't and we are all the luckier for it.       Morgan Twain-Peterson, son of Joel Peterson the man who created Ravenswood Winery, has been surrounded by great wine since he was born. When he first left home, he wanted nothing to do with wine. He went to New York to pursue other opportunities but landed a job in a wine shop of all places. Getting bitten by the bug, he found his way home and started a winery with his good friend Chris Cottrell who worked at the same wine shop. A family with a long history of respecting the earth, pedigree of a DOCG, the highest level of Italian wine, and the need to supply the world with delicious and approachable Brunello di Montalcino. Notedincanto unleashes all the classic markings of Brunello, also known as Sangiovese. Although don't let the people of Montalcino hear you say "Sangiovese", "it's Brunello!"
